Electrical discharge machining (EDM), is a manufacturing process whereby a desired shape is obtained by using electrical discharges (sparks).
Spark erosion cuts through the material like a thin wire, so that very complex figures and contours can be created. Materials that need to be machined with spark erosion must be electrically conductive.
Hardened materials as well as titanium, brass, aluminium and stainless steel can be subjected to spark erosion.
